I believe in real food, real ingredients, and a clean diet.
My passion for food started in the kitchen with my mother growing up, and as I matured, so did my curiosity for nutrition. I wanted to learn about the nutrients in food, how the body uses them, and the relationship between diet, health, and disease. Intuitively, I believed nutrition could help me perform, as well as protect my body.
Before starting my nutrition consulting business, I worked in the wellness field for 5 years, gaining experience and training with a Naturopathic Doctor in Charleston, SC. I received a B.S. in Public Health from the College of Charleston and completed a Masterโs degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon. I rounded out my education by becoming a board Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), the gold standard credential for advanced nutrition professionals.
I am incredibly passionate about the science of human nutrition. Driven by the desire to help my clients and my own intellectual curiosity, I study the latest research and evaluate competing theories to make sense of the overwhelming and ever-changing health information now at our fingertips. Most importantly, I use that knowledge to make individualized recommendations for my clients.
I keep nutrition in the center of my approach.
Food should be functionalโ food is a pathway to optimal health and well-being and is the medicine to fight inflammation, heal the gut, make skin glow, sleep better, balance hormones, and more. In addition, my expertise in functional medicine allows me to apply therapies focused on optimizing gut health, detoxification pathways, stress management, nutrigenomics, healing chronic inflammation, and immune dysfunction.
I address your unique physiology, how your body systems impact one another, your lifestyle and even your life experiences. I believe that the body can heal itself given the right tools and environment. My goal as a clinician is to help you implement lifestyle changes to promote longevity and prevent chronic disease.
